Better tools. Shared wisdom. Stronger families.

This isn't a “parenting class.” Parent Academy is a place for parents to share research, resources, ideas, experiences, and even our mistakes. There is power in discovering that other families are navigating many of the same challenges.

A process for thinking

The Engineering & Design Process

The fundamentals of the Engineering & Design Process are woven into every project-based class I teach. Students learn a repeatable process for innovative thinking, collaboration, problem-solving, and meaningful revision—skills that extend far beyond mastering content.

Through discussion, deeper questioning, analysis, and real-world application, students move from simply knowing information to evaluating ideas, making connections, and creating something new. Literature and historical events become starting points for inquiry, while projects and portfolios give students opportunities to demonstrate inferential thinking, evaluative comprehension, and original thought.
